MONTHLY IMAGE COMPETITION
- Held in each of the following months; September, October, November, January, February, and March.
- See monthly categories for allowed topics.
- Four entries per month.
- Entries may be from any medium; slides, prints, or digital.
- Entries may be from mixed mediums
with a total of four
entries per month.
- The Len Trumbowl Memorial Award will be given to the participant with the highest total score for the year.
W. C. HEALEY MEMORIAL AWARD COMPETITION
- Held the first meeting in March.
- Four entries, one in each of the following categories;
- People
- Land or Seascape
- Nature
- Creative
- Highest total score wins.
ANNUAL PHOTO ESSAY COMPETITION
- Held in March.
- Both individual and team essays accepted.
SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT COMPETITION
- Held in March.
- Participants may enter up to 4 images (digital or slide) on the topic of the year (2008-09 topic is "Reflection")
- The images must have been taken in the previous 12 months.
JOE MOCSAN IMAGE OF THE YEAR COMPETITION
- Held the first meeting in April.
- Images must have been entered in a competition or evaluation during the past year.
- Images must have been entered in a competition or evaluation during the past year.
- The top image from each division (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) will be selected.
- A winner will be chosen from the top image from each division.
- First in each of the two (2) remaining divisions receives a ribbon.
ANNUAL NATURE COMPETITION
- Held the first meeting in April.
- Members may enter up to 4 slides with no more than two from one category (Zoology, Botany and General).
- Refer to the section “WHAT CONSTITUTES A NATURE ENTRY?” for a complete definition of these four categories.
- Top image in each category compete for the Nature's Three Cup.
STELL NATURE COMPETITION
- Held the first meeting in April.
- Members enter 4 digital images one from each category (Zoology, Botany Landscape and Seascape).
- Refer to the section “WHAT CONSTITUTES A NATURE ENTRY?” for a complete definition of these four categories. There is an exception in Zoology: Sea mammals, fish and other water life may be photographed in captivity, providing that the Hand of Man or his work is minimal and unobtrusive (no more than 10% of the image).
- The top combined score wins the Stell Trophy.
THE LEN TRUMBLE MEMORIAL AWARD
- The highest total points for entries into the “Monthly Image Competition” during the year wins.
THE JANICE HEALEY NATURE PRINT AWARD
- A maximum of 4 prints may be entered. The print can be in colour or monochromatic.
- Minimum size 8 x 10, maximum size 16 x 20, mounted but not framed.
- The criteria will be the same for a nature print as a nature slide. Refer to the “WHAT CONSTITUTES A NATURE ENTRY?”
THE DIANNE PAYTON MAJUMDAR ANNUAL PRINT AWARD
- A maximum of 4 prints may be entered. The print must be in colour.
- Minimum size 8 x 10, maximum size 16 x 20, mounted but not framed.
MONOCHROME PRINT OF THE YEAR AWARD
- A maximum of 4 prints may be entered. The print must be monochrome.
- Minimum size 8 x 10, maximum size 16 x 20, mounted but not framed.
